There's not a lot that can freak me out in this world. Only large animals with sharp claws, too many people touching me, bullies, hives, horror movies, sitting underneath fans or lights or anything that dangles from a ceiling, glass or wooden bridges, my mother, mosquitoes, public situations, taking a shower with nobody in the house, taking a shower with too many people in the house and crocks. Als Noa op een rommelmarkt een antieke zilveren box koopt is hij gelijk gefascineerd. De zilveren box trekt aan hem als een magneet. Hij neemt de box mee naar huis. Paar weken erna wordt Noa geteisterd door heftige nachtmerries en staat hij elke ochtend doodmoe op uit zijn bed. Zijn familie en vrienden maken zich enorm zorgen om hem. Ze vinden dat zijn gedrag telkens duisterder wordt. Als Noa voor de zoveelste keer naar de dokter gaat met lichamelijke klachten en naar huis wordt gestuurd met de verklaring stress, raakt het ten einde raad. Hij gaat op zoek naar de antiek handelaar op zoek naar antwoorden. Maar Noa komt erachter dat de antiek handelaar bij een gruwelijk ongeluk is overleden.
