17 year old Kate Green moved from a small town in CA to the big city; Manhattan, New York with her Dad. It's the year 1987 and Kate always stuck out and was teased for liking a new type of music. Grunge, being teased for emo isn't enough. Because of the fact every school she ever goes to senses her to go to the guidance counselor who is an annoying bastard who thinks he knows everything about her situation. He always checks her arms to make sure she doesn't cut her self, she hates the statistics. Her father is the only thing that makes her happy. She cares an lot about him. Yet she is forced to deal with her given situation. Father lost his new job two days after they moved leaving them in an even smaller apt. She likes to hang out in a music store in Times Square. It's a small place with good pay and almost no customers leaving her with hundreds of her favorite records and the friends there that she makes. She deals with backstabbing friends, boys trying to take advantage of her, bullying, and last of all. Drew. Not the most popular boy but definitely worth the trouble. But one question remains. Will Kate make it through the terrors of high school? And more importantly. Life?

He's always there and she never knows. He respects her privacy and to everyone who knows him thinks it's strange. There's something about her he can't get over. Jocelyn Green just turned seventeen and moved back to her hometown, a small complex by Alexandria, MN. She loves the smell of the lake and windy fresh air. The first few weeks go great, but she suspects something strange in her bedroom. The man who hides; one night reveals himself and for some reason, she doesn't scream, doesn't attack him or try to run away. She just sits in bed in fear of who he is, and what he is. He's not human and she knew that right away. When Jocelyn's life suddenly takes its downs and her life is in danger, he protects her, to the point to where he has to follow her. She finds out that he's from a race of Chaos made by the Angel Raziel, and that she is also one with two different powers but Chaos are only born with one, everyone thinks she's the new generation on Chaos. But when the enemy, the Foreshadowed somehow get their hands on her, her family secrets crawl out and reveal a power she has no idea existed. The man tells her his name finally but he also reveals a dark horrible secret from his past which traumatized him for years, then she feels like she's actually falling in love with him. He knows everything about her, the reason she became human, the two powers she could have, the truth of how her father died. He begins to protect her life with his own.
