Claire May isn't like other girls. Shes an intelligent girl, hard working and never asks anyone for anything. She might have had a horrible upbringing, with tragedies that will forever stick with her and luck that seems to never work, but after getting accepted to one of the most prestigious schools in California her luck might just change for the better. Keeping her head down and out of the way, she's done great at blending in. Well for the most part, until one in particular night she walks into the campus tattoo parlor and meets handsome and rugged Lance McKnight. Lance McKnight is known exceedingly well with the lady's on campus and when he wants something he makes sure he gets it. Then one night at the little old caf. he runs into the most beautiful woman he's ever seen and his heat skips a beat. Running into her the first time was a dream but when she walks into his shop a month later, he makes it his mission to know this little lady.

Lance just graduated and has a summer internship. His parents expect him to come back to Texas to work in the family business at the end of the summer. He likes to have fun and doesn't want to be tied down too soon. Until he meets Abby. Abby still has two years left of college and a mom who keeps her anchored near the town where she grew up. She is cautious in relationships, not letting people close. But Lance's persistence wears down her defenses. Knowing Lance is leaving, Abby tells herself it's just a summer fling. Will that be enough to keep her from falling in love? "Someone knocked into Abby from behind. She lurched forward against the guy's chest, crushing her cup against his abs and splashing the remains of her soda all over both of them. "Gah!" he shouted in surprise. He had instinctively grabbed her upper arms to steady her when she ran into him, but pushed her away slightly when he felt the soda soaking his shirt. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry," she gasped. He stood there with his arms out looking down at the mess on his shirt. Then he looked at the matching stain on her shirt and his lips twitched like he was suppressing a smile. He cleared his throat. "It's okay," he said. There was laughter in his voice. She noticed that his eyes seemed to be glued to her shirt, and she looked down. Abby gasped again. Her light pink tank was nearly see through now that it was wet." Check out Pinterest for my inspiration board for Summer Fling: www.pinterest.com/jericamacmillan/summer-fling
