End of the day [ON HOLD]

"It was a stupid mistake for me to let you go before. Now that I have you in my arms again, I'm not planning on doing the same thing." He smiled, his eyes brimming with tears.

"Promise?" I asked.

"I promise."

Did he really mean it? Or his promise would just prove that, promises are meant to be broken?
