Scarlett Rosalina Snow is the granddaughter of the famous President Snow, who used to rule the futuriststic world of Panem in a reign of horrible tyranny. The proposal to have a Games for the Capitol children was actually carried out, and now it is the 40th Capitol Games.
But on Reaping Day, 15-year-old Scarlett hears her name after it was pulled out of the bowl. Will she be able to start a rebellion that can end the District's rule over them? Or will Scarlett always live in fear... if she survives?
I'll explain more about the situation in the introduction, but basically, the new rulers of Panem decide to do a Capitol Games, where the children of the Capitol are tributes. Scarlett is Snow's granddaughter because Snow secretly had a son. So yeah... let the 40th Capitol Games begin!

A Part to Play // Hunger Games
It's the 72nd anual Hunger Games and Aria Mayfield thinks she's got nothing else to lose... until she is reaped to go into the Arena to represent the female tribute of District 5. The problem is that besides having no one that really cares for her at home, for being only twelve, and the youngest and scrawniest kid in the Games, she's got less chances than any other tribute this year, meaning she's also got the worse mentor of her District, someone who's always drunk and couldn't care less about her. To top it off, she isn't really about making good impressions and sucking it up to anyone, making her the most hated tribute ever, known to talk bad about the Games, the Capitol and the President alike... and she's got a strict no kill policy. The Mockingjay Died: The Fourth Quarter Quell
When the laws of the Hunger Games were laid out, they dictated that every twenty-five years the anniversary would be marked by a Quarter Quell. It would call for a glorified version of the Games to make the fresh the memory of those killed by the districts' rebellion. Now we honor our fourth Quarter Quell. On the one hundredth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that the Dark Days only served to tear their families apart, each district will be required to send two sets of siblings. The new government that came with the rebellion Katniss started has been overthrown. President Snow's granddaughter is ruling Panem now, and she has proven to be more ruthless than he ever was. Katniss and Peeta were publicly executed after the Capitol took over again, and District 13 was completely obliterated. Since then, the Hunger Games have been harsher than ever. After Snow Falls
The Capitol has fallen and all of President Snow's supporters have scattered. Many await their fate at the hands of an angry public or the scheming of their past colleagues. But Charasija Snow has a different fate. As the granddaughter of the late President Snow, the most hated man in the country, her parents had but two choices. One, let her share in their death and end the family line or two, send her away with a new face, new identity and nowhere to return home to. If she could go back she might have asked them to choose the first. But no one gave her a choice. Charasija is given the name Winter and sent to grow up in an orphanage alongside other Capitol children. But without any real love or family Winter sees no reason to care about anything, much less her lessons and future. At 18 now she is kicked out of the orphanage with only one possible job open to her, work in the newly opened coal mines in what was once district 12. The New Panem needs coal faster than they can update essential machinery to replace it, so Winter is sent with other fellow aged out orphans to work in the coal mines. This is her last chance to build a life for herself before she becomes homeless on the streets. What will life be like for the twisted and complicated young woman? And what will happen when she sees the controversial inhabitants of that town? Namely, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark.
