(Revised) Keeping A Straight Face | ✏️
17 parts Ongoing The story of unrequited love has been told over and over again. It is arguably one of the most distinguishable tropes in all of romance history, right up there with 'bad boy' or 'forbidden love'. But is there a term for when two people pine for each other, completely unaware of their mutual attraction?
From the sandpits in kindergarten to university lecture halls, Taylor and Darko have been there together. When Taylor's not jamming out to punk-rock music, he's practising the piano, dreaming of playing on a world stage someday. Darko's motocross skills are unmatched (well, at least he says they are). On paper, the two are chalk and cheese. But, despite their differences, these two best friends share one thing - a life-changing secret.
They're madly in love with each other. The only problem? They're both too scared to do anything about it.
With graduation looming, Taylor and Darko each realise that they want to come out to the world and start their post-uni lives in the most authentic ways possible. It's not that easy, though. Taylor's struggling with a dark family secret. Darko knows that if he comes out to his family and tells them who he truly is, he risks losing everything.
Plus, they're terrified of how the other would react.
Will they burst out the closet, or will they choose to maintain the façade?
