Unexpected Buddies
Sometimes, we become so obsessed with the expectations we have set to ourselves. Thinking that everything must go according to plan, we tend to pressure ourselves to the point of no return. One of the things that people put a lot of expectations on is relationships. We are so in love with the idea of who we should be with and how the relationship must unfold. More often than not, the person we've been waiting all along will come into our lives when we least expected it. When Angela Larson arrived at Paramere after two years living abroad, she promised herself that this will be the best year of highschool she'll ever have. Being a senior in the most prestigious school in town, people expect her to graduate with flying colors and to land a spot in the best university. Knowing this, she told herself that she will make sure not to disappoint them. But more than excelling in academics, Angela is hoping that she'll hit the jackpot when it comes to relationships. She wanted to be in the good side of everyone and live a peaceful but exciting highschool life. Also, she wished to experience the, what they call, "the joy of being in a relationship." Since freshman, she harbored a crush on Paulo. Even during her stay abroad, she never stopped thinking about him. Now that she's back, she was hoping that he'll reciprocate her feelings. Seeing how she got enough on her plate, Angela never thought that she will be dealing with the aloof Brandon Lerman. They just cannot stop bickering and glaring at each other. But fate has other plans for them. Due to series of unexpected events, they were forced to be civil with each other. Soon enough, they found themselves in a blossoming friendship. Will they be able to overcome their grudges for the sake of their grades? Or will they let their pride took over and crushed whatever chance they have for being buddies? Alexandria Simmons has never been noticed at her high school, Hartwell High. With only having two best friends, she's actually pretty ok with not having anyone bother her for always having a book in her hand, or for keeping to herself. It's actually pretty surprising that no one had the guts to talk trash about her behind her back, or to laugh at how different she is from the rest of the girls in their student body, well maybe that was because of her older brother; by 1 year, Cameron Simmons, who was sort of like the Troy Bolton of their school, and if you ever got on his bad side, well that would definitely suck for you. Alex had an average life, it was as if she was riding one of those slow kiddy rides at an amusement park, that you were forced to go on by your younger siblings or relatives. Her life was simply too boring, plain, simple, so bland. That was until Mr. Jayce Reynolds stepped into the picture. Jayce Reynolds, who was sort of like a younger cockier version of Cameron. Everyone expected him to take over the football team once Cam graduated. Being only a junior, and being one of the best football players in that school was something everyone idolized him for. He was expected to become a football player by his classmates, or to take over some big corporate company by his dad. Speaking of his dad, his family was probably the most dysfunctional yet peculiar group of people that ever stepped on this earth. Aside from that, having the "perfect" girlfriend and being a part of the "popular" crowd had its perks, but Jayce thought otherwise. With said fame come amenities, such as invitations to social events with other influencers. The reader became friends with, what some would consider the most famous group of males on the app, the New Jersey Boys at one of these social events and has caught the eye of 2 in particular; although I won't spoil who it could possibly be (even though you can probably guess based off the title). And as if being related to one of them wasn't enough, the reader is moving to New Jersey to live with their cousin, Robert. This story is narrated in 1st person and past tense, think of it as if you're telling someone a story from your perspective.
