Trapped in the underground for her whole life, Hallie has never known anything of the world above her. She only knew what she was told, or what she had seen in movies. Separated from the world above, she lives in an underground safe haven below a wild outbreak of disease on the surface. When it is discovered that she has an infectious disease, Hallie has a decision to make: live and become a lab rat for the underground scientists to run tests on, or die. After breaking out of the lab and onto the surface, Hallie is alone and completely new to the world that was once above her.
