"I've never felt the warm touch of man, or had the pleasure of someone making my heart sing. I've never found anyone who's made my heart race with the intensity of a raging fire. At least no one real. All the men I love just happen to be fictional. What's wrong with that?" Meet Grace Tanner, a hopeless romantic at heart. She writes a column for her school's newspaper under the alias Echo Rose. It is her job to write entertaining, but heartfelt letters from hopeless romantics. The only problem, Grace has never been in love. She also has the notion that there is no such thing as a perfect man who will save her from this terrible world we live in. Enter Chase Young, a dashing young man who is charismatic, flirty, and a huge heartthrob. He is known for not caring about school, as well as for breaking hearts all around. After a chance encounter, Grace and Chase, who come from two different walks of life, might actually have something in common. Will Chase be the one to convince Grace that there are such things as real life happy endings? Or will she fall without having anyone there to catch her?

Rose Lovell does not have the time or the energy for a boyfriend. Her senior year is the time for fun and school and avoiding any more drama, especially after all the chaos from last year. But when her ex boyfriend pisses her off a little too much, it's time for a little revenge. Alex Finch might hate Rose's ex even more than she does. So when a plan forms to get back at him, Alex is ready to pounce on the chance. The rules are simple: pretend to date for a few months and then break up. It's all just an act after all. But what if pretending starts to get too real? Will they stick to the script or will emotions ruin everything? *finished september 30, 2025*
