Amelia war gerade mal 16 Jahre alt als ihr älterer Bruder Luis an einem schweren Motorradunfall ums Leben kam. Für sie brach eine Welt zusammen. Luis war ihr ein und alles, ihr bester Freund. Mit ihm konnte sie über alles reden ohne dass er auch irgendwann nur ein Wort darüber verloren hat. 
Seit dem Tod von Luis ist Amelia sehr verschlossen. Früher war sie immer das fröhliche, lebenslustige Mädchen. Doch heute? Sie ist sehr still geworden und öffnet sich keinem mehr. Sie trägt grossen Schmerz mit sich, doch redet mit keinem darüber. 
Es war Samstag und Amelia ging in die Stadt um Weihnachtsgeschenke für ihre Familie zu besorgen. Sie will gerade zur Kasse gehen als sie plötzlich von einem Typ, ungefähr in ihrem Alter, angerempelt wird. 
Amelia findet ihn anfangs sehr unsympathisch, doch lernt ihn immer besser kennen.
