Tatiana can see things.

Horses that dash across the ocean. Boys that vanish as soon as they touch water. Storms that spring up seemingly out of nowhere, only to vanish moments later.

She thinks she’s going crazy, drowning in her own insanity after her father was lost to the ocean 8 years ago.

When Kai and his siblings burst into her life, seeing things is the least of Tatiana’s worries. Kai is rude, snappy and yet devilishly handsome. But Tatiana, no matter how much she’d just love to stab him in the face, can’t shake the feeling that she knows him. That the boy with the haunting dark sapphire eyes isn’t just a normal douche bag.

Well, he isn’t. Neither he nor his siblings are human. They’re Hydros. A race of humans that never left the water, dominating the seven seas. They’re violent, deadly, and unchanging as the ocean itself. And stranded on land.

Suddenly, drowning doesn’t seem so impossible.

'"I cannot feel this way. You clearly don't feel-" "I do though." He interrupts me. I finally look up to meet his eyes. It holds so much sadness. "Believe it or not but it hurts me every time I see tears in your eyes." His hands reach for my face, one more time and gently wipes the tears off my face. No matter what, the tears keep flowing down. "Please don't cry." He whispers. "You have someone out there just for you. Waiting for you." I whisper softly. A sad smile forms on my face that is now saltier than the ocean bed itself. I try to tug his hand off my face, but his hold is firm. He leans his head down and places it against mine. "I know." His whisper equally soft. "You need to let go. Just as I am." I close my eyes and take in the breeze of ocean that surrounds him and now me.
