Abigail Fulton is a senior in Silverbarrow High who works in a dusty little shop that sells nothing but old books and candles. She has a cat that has no respect for personal space, she wears flannels and black jeans -- never bothers with make up or heels. She has her coffee black and eats whatever she's given. She wears her hair either in a messy bun, a French braid, or a half bun. She does not know how to use chopsticks and cannot be bothered with untangling jewelry . She keeps a journal and usually writes in it as she sits either in front of the brick wall behind her school, or on the windowsill of her room. But her perfectly boring and ordinary life suddenly changes when her big brother's childhood friend Blue stops by their town for a "short" visit. Blue is charming, charismatic, playful, and -as hard as it is to admit- irresistible. Although Abigail initially despises him, like any other fictional teenage girl, she ultimately finds herself entangled with this mysterious boy. Under Blue's tough, player shell, Abigail discovers a whole other person: very vulnerable, deep, and in need of being loved.

✗ "I'm sorry," I choked, the tears spilling down my cheeks. He shook his head and pulled me closer again. "Don't be sorry, just work on getting better," He said, rubbing calming circles on my back while I cried into his chest. His arms tightened around me and he pressed his lips against the top of my head, making me cry even harder. "I had never meant to hurt anyone. I just wanted to be good enough," I whispered. The guilt weighing heavy on my shoulders. "Briar," He said quietly, "You're so much more than good enough." ✗ Meet Briar Martin. She's popular, rich, smart and pretty, add a perfect boyfriend to that list and her life couldn't be much better, right? Wrong. Briar's life is spiralling out of control, and it feels like no one can see her struggle. No one can help her. At least, that's what she thinks before Tyler Grey walks into her life, turning everything on it's head. Tyler is mysterious, charming, and drop dead gorgeous, but does he have what it takes to save Briar from her downward spiral? And what happens when he's the one who needs saving? Can these two broken people fix each other, and find peace with themselves? Or are some things broken beyond repair?
