Abigail Fulton is a senior in Silverbarrow High who works in a dusty little shop that sells nothing but old books and candles. She has a cat that has no respect for personal space, she wears flannels and black jeans -- never bothers with make up or heels. She has her coffee black and eats whatever she's given. She wears her hair either in a messy bun, a French braid, or a half bun. She does not know how to use chopsticks and cannot be bothered with untangling jewelry . She keeps a journal and usually writes in it as she sits either in front of the brick wall behind her school, or on the windowsill of her room.

But her perfectly boring and ordinary life suddenly changes when her big brother's childhood friend Blue stops by their town for a "short" visit. Blue is charming, charismatic, playful, and -as hard as it is to admit- irresistible. Although Abigail initially despises him, like any other fictional teenage girl, she ultimately finds herself entangled with this mysterious boy. Under Blue's tough, player shell, Abigail discovers a whole other person: very vulnerable, deep, and in need of being loved.

I fell for a boy with the kindest blue eyes, and a charming dimple. He made me feel loved, and cared for, and most importantly he made me feel safe in his presence. He came right in the middle of a tornadoe and managed to turn it into blue skies. He changed my perspective and gave me hope and strength." I looked at him, and he was smiling, and his eyes were a little glossy. He took my hand and kissed it, a small tear caught in the corner of his beautiful eyes. "I thought, hey, maybe life isn't so bad after all. Maybe I can finally allow myself to love and be loved, and to live life normally. When we went to your party, you told me to wait for you. But then your perverted cousin made me feel super uncomfortable, so I went looking for you, just to be able to feel at peace again. And that's when I saw it." My heart beats skyrocketed, because this was the moment everything changed forever. "Saw what?" Asked Axel. I took a deep breath, and continued. The Ashes Where We Touched von katiyz
11 Kapitel Laufend Erwachseneninhalt
Cameron has always been "the little sister" in everyone's eyes especially to Chase, her brother's ridiculously good-looking best friend who practically grew up in their house. He used to tease her, ruffle her hair, and treat her like she was ten years old, even when she was seventeen. But years later, Cameron returns to her hometown for a fresh start after a rough breakup, and Chase Bennett isn't just her brother's friend anymore - he's now the co-owner of the town's most popular bar, confident, annoyingly protective, and way too good at remembering the little things about her. A temporary arrangement puts Cameron working at the bar to get back on her feet... meaning she's seeing Chase almost every day. There's tension in the way they trade barbs, an electricity when their hands brush while pouring drinks, and a look in his eyes that says he's noticing she's not so little anymore. The problem? Her brother is fiercely protective and is currently going through issues with his own work, meaning he's travelling more then usual - making Chase promise to "watch out for Cameron" while he's out of town. That promise doesn't exactly cover the nights they close the bar together, the quiet talks in the stockroom, or the slow, torturous moments where neither can seem to step away. When her brother returns earlier than planned and catches wind of something, Cameron and Chase have to face the fallout-and decide whether they're willing to risk the friendship that started it all for a love that might be worth every broken rule.

✗ "I'm sorry," I choked, the tears spilling down my cheeks. He shook his head and pulled me closer again. "Don't be sorry, just work on getting better," He said, rubbing calming circles on my back while I cried into his chest. His arms tightened around me and he pressed his lips against the top of my head, making me cry even harder. "I had never meant to hurt anyone. I just wanted to be good enough," I whispered. The guilt weighing heavy on my shoulders. "Briar," He said quietly, "You're so much more than good enough." ✗ Meet Briar Martin. She's popular, rich, smart and pretty, add a perfect boyfriend to that list and her life couldn't be much better, right? Wrong. Briar's life is spiralling out of control, and it feels like no one can see her struggle. No one can help her. At least, that's what she thinks before Tyler Grey walks into her life, turning everything on it's head. Tyler is mysterious, charming, and drop dead gorgeous, but does he have what it takes to save Briar from her downward spiral? And what happens when he's the one who needs saving? Can these two broken people fix each other, and find peace with themselves? Or are some things broken beyond repair?
