Abigail Fulton is a senior in Silverbarrow High who works in a dusty little shop that sells nothing but old books and candles. She has a cat that has no respect for personal space, she wears flannels and black jeans -- never bothers with make up or heels. She has her coffee black and eats whatever she's given. She wears her hair either in a messy bun, a French braid, or a half bun. She does not know how to use chopsticks and cannot be bothered with untangling jewelry . She keeps a journal and usually writes in it as she sits either in front of the brick wall behind her school, or on the windowsill of her room.

But her perfectly boring and ordinary life suddenly changes when her big brother's childhood friend Blue stops by their town for a "short" visit. Blue is charming, charismatic, playful, and -as hard as it is to admit- irresistible. Although Abigail initially despises him, like any other fictional teenage girl, she ultimately finds herself entangled with this mysterious boy. Under Blue's tough, player shell, Abigail discovers a whole other person: very vulnerable, deep, and in need of being loved.

The Game We Play [𝚞𝚗𝚎𝚍𝚒𝚝𝚎𝚍]

30 parts Complete Mature

Brielle Harper and Carter Hayes have always been the best of friends. Their dynamic is effortless-her wild, free-spirited energy perfectly balances his steady, grounded presence. From late-night snack runs to being each other's plus-ones to countless events, they've been inseparable for years. Everyone around them assumes they're secretly in love, but Brielle and Carter know the truth: they're just friends. At least, that's what they keep telling themselves. When a heated game of truth or dare at a party stirs up feelings they've been avoiding, Brielle and Carter are forced to confront the undeniable chemistry simmering beneath their friendship. As their lives pull them in different directions-Brielle chasing her dream career in event planning and Carter preparing for a shot at the NFL-their once unshakable friendship becomes increasingly complicated. Caught between their fears of ruining what they have and their growing desire for something more, Brielle and Carter must decide if they're willing to risk everything for love. But love is never as simple as a game, and the stakes have never been higher. This story is a heartfelt, slow-burn romance about two best friends discovering that sometimes the biggest risk is taking a chance on each other.
