Jane is a cunning girl who's had to do anything she could to keep her and her sickly mother alive. She is notorious as a thief and yet no one can deny her beauty and her ability to charm herself out of any situation; even out of prison. So when the king makes a decree summoning duchesses and princesses everywhere for a chance to marry the prince, she immediately knows what to do in order to keep her mother alive.

With the help of her best friend Catherine, daughter of a local seamstress, she disguises herself as a duchess and travels to the palace, under the impression that she'd be able to quickly steal and leave the palace within a day.

Quickly caught up in her lies and her own mouth, she soon finds that life as a duchess isn't as fun, nor as easy as it may seem. Tangled with pretending to vie for the prince's attention, lying about who she is and being in the wrong places at the wrong time, she's about to find out that beauty and charm sometimes isn't enough.

Especially not when her own heart is also against her.

The Exiled Gem

96 parts Complete

Exiled from her own land - to be executed if she ever returns, Princess Alexandra finds herself turning a spy for the enemy. Because, well, they impress her. Especially the splendid emperor, who is indebted to Alexandra for a number of things he wouldn't tell. She doesn't mind that - because life just turns a lot more colorful outside the Palace walls - until one (not so) fine day, she realizes that the emperor no longer *only* impresses her. Unfortunately, the course of true love never runs smooth. And before she can even give herself a chance with Liam, Alexandra has to sort a few things out. Namely, all the mistakes the previous generation did. **The story starts from 339 B.C. but language used is completely modern because I don't know Ancient Greek**
