   If  you do not know what a demigod is, put this down immediately mortal! If you refuse to follow these directions, I warn you, bad things will happen.
   So now that you've had a fair warning, let's begin with who this mysterious person writing to you is...
My name is Ashton Davis. I am thirteen years old. I live at this wonderful place called Camp Half Blood. If you are wondering what that is, it's a safe haven for people like you and me, demigods. Children with one mortal and one Godly parent. 
   Now that we have come this far you might be wondering who my Godly parent is. Well I'm not going to tell you. Not yet at least. I know it might be cruel for me to leave you at that slight cliff hanger, but it is the only way that I can be sure you'll read my story. And reading this is vital. It may help you to survive one day, then again maybe not. But my suggestion is that you read on because even though it's only the story of one young girl, I hope it might prepare you for the experiences before, within, and beyond camp. 
   I cast off this letter hoping that some clueless demigod some stumbled upon it. Well luckily I hope you're not so clueless anymore. So please read on. I'm going to start my story a couple of weeks ago. The day I discovered I was a demigod.All Rights Reserved
