Maisie Gil's life is incredibly average. She wishes her hair would be straighter, she has a crush on the basketball team captain, and she can't apply eyeliner whatsoever.

However, that life is going to change forever once a video of her singing her original song is posted to YouTube. In a matter of days, Maisie becomes an internet sensation and is offered the chance of a lifetime to be a contestant on the latest singing competition reality show: The Next Teen Superstar.

Now Maisie's 'average' life seems far, far away. Being on TV, being confronted with betrayal, and being torn between two different boys is just the beginning. The Next Teen Superstar gives Maisie a chance to win a recording deal and have all her dreams come true.

The only thing standing between Maisie and superstardom, may be herself.
