Have you ever loved someone so deep that there was no option other than letting them go?

When I met him, he was mean, arrogant and an overall jerk but never in a million years would I have though that Tristan Meyers would become my best friend; however, despite me wanting more never did we once become more than friends.

He went on to love and break multiple hearts, while I stood in the sidelines waiting for him to come home and tell me about his conquests. Not once did I tell him about my feelings and never once did he hint that he had some for me.

We've been through thick and thin promising never to let each other go, but destiny had something else in mind. Eight years ago Tristan and I fell apart, eight years ago I stopped believing in love, eight years ago he killed every ounce of hope that I've had regarding us.

Eight years later I see him again.
