Until we have to let go

We all have than one person who owns our heart. That person who we love completely and would do anything for. That one we want to be with forever and ever. The one we are afraid to lose. The one whose hands we want to hold all the time ... Until eventually we have to let go.

"Don't be afraid my love." He whispered into my ears as I closed my eyes.
"Hold my hand. I need you here." I said with my eyes still closed. I was too afraid to open them and give way to tears.
"I've got you. You are safe. I'm here and I'm going to hold your hand for as long as I can. Until I have to let go." I felt his warm strong hand holding mine.
"Until you have to let go." I whispered.
