This is the story of three people who were never supposed to become extraordinary but did.
Love. Frienship. Heartbreak. Betrayal. Fear. Pain. Loyalty. Laughter. Excitement.
Who will live and who will die.
#warning starts off light and funny but around chapter 9 its starts to get fun ;) so light hearted people this is probably not for you.#

Long ago, humans with supernatural abilities began to appear in our world. These gifted humans possessed strange powers such as super strength, the ability to fly, or control over elements. However, these gifted humans were few in number. Soon, the normal humans grew jealous of their power. They shamelessly threw these "freaks" out of their homes. They were beaten, abused, and treated as slaves. Eventually, the gifted humans rebelled, and a great war began between them. This war would last for years and lead to countless lives lost. Realizing they could never coexist, the gifted humans decided to create a world where they could live freely. This world became known as Trabachi. Hundreds of years later, enter our main character. After three epidemics, fifteen wars and plenty of government disagreements, the world stopped numbering their years. The last recorded one was 2104. During that year, all hell broke loose. The continents started merging together, forming one giant landmass like they did when the dinosaurs were roaming around. All the countries disappeared and were replaced by sectors: Arctic, Ocean, Jungle, Desert, City, Cavern, Sky and Forest. In the very centre of the landmass, there is a small portion of land that is not claimed by any sector. That piece of land is home to one thing and one thing only. The Hollow. The Hollow is a small cottage, white-washed and red-roofed. It used to house criminals and now is occupied except for beasts that are caged in the Grotto, which is the name people have given to the basement of The Hollow. Now, since The Hollow is useless unless you need somewhere to store mythical legends, children are sent there on the seventeenth of each month to face tests to check if they are fit for living in this world. No child has ever lasted more than a few days. Until now. Eric Alastor is a thief who has no friends or family by the age of seventeen. Elisaveta Nebula is a girl who carries around knives to protect herself from the criminals crawling around her sector. Together, they will face The Hollow. Daring to walk alongside death every day, they develop a strong connection. Maybe it's just from the circumstances. Or could it have something to do with Eric's troubled past... Will they face their challenges with a smile on their face? Live to tell their story?
Rell and The Rose by hjnelson

A Beast stalks the night... but Beauty hunts him. A reimagining of the story you thought you knew. Rell grew up hearing stories of the Human Realm, a fantastic world with light at the flick of a finger, metal boxes that fly through the sky; a fantastic, faraway fairytale that she knows is too good to be true. Because Rell lives in the Dark Realm: a world full of magical creatures and a low-hanging sky, all protected by The Blood Rose. Until the day the Blood Rose is stolen away and taken to the Human Realm. Without it, the two realms will meet with disastrous consequences, the human sun bleaching all the magic from the Dark Realm. And so Rell leaves everything she knows to bring it back. There's only one problem: the Human Realm- especially high school- is nothing like the stories. There's some sort of code with words like "twerking" and "Instagram" she can't understand, and then there's Bastien, the boy who hates Rell for reasons she can't explain. But when Rell realizes Bastien is keeping just as many secrets as she is, the two become an unlikely team in the search for the Blood Rose. Time is ticking, and more than just The Dark Realm is at stake. Whoever stole the rose is now cursed to turn into a Beast every full moon, and is hidden among them. Students are going missing, and dark creatures are slipping into the Human Realm. Rell needs to find the Blood Rose, slay the Beast, survive high school, and sort out these new, confusing feelings for Bastien--all before the night of the full moon. To fail could mean the end of The Dark Realm and every magical creature within, but to succeed means she'll lose the boy she's falling for, and a Realm more beautiful than she ever imagined. A modern-day reimaging of Beauty and the Beast.

[Wattys2018 Shortlist] [Bootcamp Mentorship Mentee 2020] [Insidious Awards - 1st place/Action/Adventure] "Squinty, I... Help me! Please! You have to help me!" Squinty huffed at him as the horse might snort at an annoying fly it couldn't get rid of. "A...a... an apple," he stammered. "I just... stole an apple!" ---- When water is controlled by those in power, even a mere apple can be a catalyst. For Squinty, it was the start of everything. Finding Grizzly. Losing Roko. Becoming a Vigil. Discovering she had the power to become invisible. For Nalina, the threat of a new Water War was even closer to home; her beloved brother was the one initiating it. To Drian, water formed the core of his belief system, defined who was - and was not - worthy, and justified the treatment of the underground-dwelling Wellers. An orphan girl, determined to do what was right. A princess, petitioning for peace. An abbot, torn between his religion, and his experience. Each with an Etching, a unique power that surely makes them special; a tie to something more, something extra, something beyond the Squareworld.
