There isn't much you can't lose in the early medieval times. The only thing you can truly lose is your soul to the devil or to lose your meaning of living. For Princess Elizabeth, she has lost the meaning of living after England has taken over her land and territory. It's only when an Angel named Gabriel. He too had lost his meaning of living when the demons take over Heaven.
The king and queen of England are now dead and a new leader is needed. Gabriel takes his chances and tried to find the other angels that too fell from Heaven. After ruling the country for a couple, he discovers that he needs a queen by his side so she may help him understand the citizens that are human. He finds that there is a princess from Scotland that has been missing for three years. It occurs to him who she might be. Gabriel sends his best angels to find her and to protect her at all costs.
As Princess Elizabeth is on the run from the kings men, she is saved by a man with wings. That's when she finds the truth.
