“Crossing Paths” tells the story of Katniss’s life a few years after the events in Mockingjay. She has a daughter, Mockingjay (aka Jay), who is 14 years of age. Life is going pretty smoothly until Gale Hawthorne comes back to District Twelve for a visit. Despite what everyone thinks he comes to deliver a terrifying message. Former President Snow has a granddaughter who wants revenge. When Melody comes to Twelve, she warns Katniss to stay out of her way. Once she leaves she goes to the Capital and overthrows the government. She recreates the Hunger Games and requires all of the rebellion leaders’ children to participate, including Jay. As Katniss, Peeta, Gale, and a group of former rebel leaders fight to get the kids out alive; Jay is faced with the terrible decision. Will she make it out alive? Or will she die trying to protect someone with whom she has grown dangerously in love with? ***This story is unedited. Please excuse any grammatical errors***
