(If you have read the Hunger Games Trilogy, you know of Haymitch Abernathy, Katniss and Peeta's mentor, and former Victor of the Hunger Games.) 16 year old Haymitch Abernathy lives in District 12 with his mother and younger brother. After he is tricked into submitting his name for tesserae, he is selected with long time companion, Maysilee Donner, and brother sister duo, Jack and Annalise Mayor, to enter the Arena and fight to the death against 44 others. Four from each district. Haymitch begins to experience not only physical turmoil, but emotional and mental chaos as he finds himself torn between friends and duty. He knows that he must stay focused on the task at hand unless we wants to become one of the Fallen.
