She knew her time was short. She felt the way her life was slipping into the abyss.
"This is for the best," she murmured with a pained breath. "My fate was to merely assist Naruto on his journey. It seems I've completed my part in this tale." Minutes pass by, but it feels like a lifetime.
The woman lay there, slowly bleeding til nightfall. Her vision became blurred before she saw no more. Her sense of smell, taste, and hearing no more. Her heart slowed to a halt; beating no more. She allowed the last bit of oxygen to escape her lungs. Her hair turned pastel pink.
Everything in the forest was quiet, almost as a sign to give her a peaceful death. A moment of silence if you will.
