Minneapolis, Minnesota. This story takes place in the northern part of the United States and it shares it's own story. A family of four live happily on the suburbs of Minneapolis St. Paul, living like normal people. Going to school, buying groceries, paying bills, those are things that are needed to be done to survive in the regular world.
That will all change soon.
The pandemic in California has spread, breaking through the quarantine and devouring anyone in its way. News won't be enough to keep them informed, The National Guard isn't enough to keep them safe. Their front doors aren't enough to keep them from getting in and keeping their family safe.
