"The fire that was once an inferno flickers on, weakly, but it flickers on. It is not hope, it is not revolution, it is destruction and death. Fire cannot be controlled, it can only be fueled. Fire is not life. It must be put out. Only a few can see beyond the smoke. "
Over 25 years ago, Katniss Everdeen lead a rebellion against the Capitol. The rebellion caused nationwide turmoil and severe damage. It came to an abrupt end when rebels were unable to crack The Nut. In all, one district was wiped off the face of the earth, all others are only remnants of what little they once were.
Since the second rebellion, the disgraced President Snow has taken drastic steps to control and punish the districts.

Salt in Her Veins - Finnick Odair
She was born in the sea. They tried to drown her in blood. Violet Richardson never asked to be a Victor. At sixteen, she was reaped for the 67th Hunger Games and earned her crown the only way the Capitol allowed: with blood on her hands and salt in her lungs. Branded The Ocean's Fury, Vi became a Capitol darling, sold to the highest bidder, and paraded like a prize. But beneath the pearls and poison, rebellion simmers. When she's forced to mentor a fragile tribute named Annie Cresta, Vi sees herself reflected in trembling hands and sea-glass eyes-and vows to protect the girl in the only way she knows how. Survival. As whispers of revolution sweep Panem, Vi must fight for more than her life. For love-for Finnick Odair, the boy the Capitol turned into a weapon. For her brother, reaped in a later Game. For the spark of something better. And when the Quarter Quell drags her back into the Arena, Vi makes a choice: She won't play their game. She'll burn it down. From the depths of District Four to the heart of a rebellion, Salt in Her Veins is a story of rage, resistance, and the quiet hope that survives even the cruelest storms.Abgeschlossen
Finnick Odair--Nothing But a Hood
There are two kinds of people in the world, or at least in Pepper Buckley's small, one town, one district world. Those people are Leatherbacks and Horseshoes. She's a Leatherback. A street rat. A hood. A gangster. Did I say hood? She's been fighting since she was brought into the nasty world she lives in. When she's reaped for the 66th Annual Hunger Games and meets the stupidly praised Golden Boy from District Four, her life is turned into a hurricane of mess-ups. Poor Pepper Buckley. The Mockingjay Died: The Fourth Quarter Quell
When the laws of the Hunger Games were laid out, they dictated that every twenty-five years the anniversary would be marked by a Quarter Quell. It would call for a glorified version of the Games to make the fresh the memory of those killed by the districts' rebellion. Now we honor our fourth Quarter Quell. On the one hundredth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that the Dark Days only served to tear their families apart, each district will be required to send two sets of siblings. The new government that came with the rebellion Katniss started has been overthrown. President Snow's granddaughter is ruling Panem now, and she has proven to be more ruthless than he ever was. Katniss and Peeta were publicly executed after the Capitol took over again, and District 13 was completely obliterated. Since then, the Hunger Games have been harsher than ever. This Quarter Quell promises to be the worst Games since the rebellion. This story is being entered in the 2015 Wattys! Comment and vote and read please!Abgeschlossen
