Stopwatch

Shannon has lost everything. Her parents are dead, she is homeless, and has to survive by selling drugs and stealing purses. When she meets another homeless kid named Rod, she starts to look a life in a different light and find hope, but when the police finally catches up to them, Shannon is close to loosing everything all over again.

"The police officers started counting down from twenty and I felt like I was back at one of my track meets before the gun sounded and we departed from the starting line; our feet propelling us forward to the ticking of the stopwatch."
