Ophelia knows nothing about who or what she is. She thinks her birth parents died in a car crash when she was thirteen and she was raised by a family friend named Marcus. A month in her stay with him he starts beating her and degrading her until one day, he finally comes semi-clean about the situation. She doesn't know whether to believe him or not. As she starts to investigate and realize what he said to her is true.

Colton, on the other hand, has known about Ophelia since the day she was born. He's two years older than he and he knows that she is his mate, as well as his queen. He is willing to change his player ways if Ophelia is willing to learn to open up and trust others.
