The Dust-dweller left a week after her 16th birthday and hasn't looked back since- but now two years have passed and she desperately wants off the planet.
The Mimic's orders have finally come through: find what was left behind and do not return without it, no matter the cost.
The Captain's meddling with what he believed to be a small-time gang reveals something far more sinister, old wounds smart and the past starts nipping at his heels.
All three meet as the suns slowly set below Heavy Melder's black horizon, starting a chain of events none of them could have prepared for and leaving no one unscathed- not even the dead.

This is the rewritten version of Chasing Phantoms! The old one is still up and posted as OLD - Chasing Phantoms. For those curious about setting/timeline, this is set after the CGI movie, but (and this is a very important but) with the old anime having come before- as well as including the Galaxy Railways and other leijiverse anime too.
