As the only aeramental in Northridge and the adopted daughter of the town's Eldest, expectations weigh heavy on Lyllithe's shoulders. Everyone assumes she'll follow in her parents' footsteps, becoming a Devoted of the Light, ministering healing to those wounded in battle. But that path is bound by strict guidelines of purity and pacifism. The heritage which separates her from the other villagers also grants access to Refocusing, the arcane art of manipulating elemental energies. But her rudimentary understanding and late start would make acceptance to the Arcanists' Hall unlikely at best. Lyllithe quickly finds herself torn between two worlds, opposed to the strictures of both. Yet seasons and times pay no heed to one girl's indecision. And events in the last vestiges of the fallen empire threaten to bury everything Lyllithe and her friends know and love under a spreading shadow of bloodshed.

The world is unraveling-and this time, the loom isn't in control. Mireya never asked to be a symbol. She only wanted the freedom to shape her own path. But after building a sanctuary where lost threads find their place, she's become the spark in a pattern trying desperately to hold its form. With Solin's steady presence, her parents' unshakable bond, and an echo who longs to be more than reflection, Mireya walks toward the final truth: She doesn't just defy the weave. She remakes it. Now the spiral spreads. And the world must decide- Will it repeat the past? Or shape something new?
