Caleb is definitely a troubled child. Alone, with nothing going for him, he attempts to take his own life but fails at his first attempt. He desperately wants to try again but is put under constant supervision, especially by his new doctor, Dr Palmer. Dr Palmer becomes more and more involved in Caleb’s life, trying to help him see that his life is worth living through various methods. Eventually, the two build up a trusting and understanding relationship and Dr Palmer allows Caleb to do things that his parents would have never have let him do so soon after something so tragic.
