"I've escaped death itself. If I can do that, I can survive anything."

Return back to a Tony Stark love story. If you liked Rise, then you'll love this one just as much! This ones badder, better and insidious.

My name? People call me different things. It varies. They call me wild, mordacious and even suicidal. You can call me Gail. Just Gail, nothing more and nothing less. Since the day I was born, I was already dead. Left as baby to starve on the streets with no love from any parents. Maybe that's why I'm so stony. However the day a man named Nick Fury found me was the day I wouldn't be considered a child. Training to be an assassin at the age of three and learnt how to fight at the age of five. SHIELD is my home. How I became an Avenger is past my knowledge. How I met Tony Starkis unbelievable. Loving Tony Stark is just plain fable.

It's almost funny. How grief sneaks up on you. One second, you're fine; you're coping well and then it hits you like a bullet, tearing right through your heart, almost killing you on the spot. Grief is a monster that lies dormant in the darkest quarters of your mind, growing stronger and stronger until you can't fight anymore. Until you can't breathe. Peter was fractured. The monster having grown too big, and without any support left to hold him up, the world of drugs dug its claws into him. And it was slowly killing him, like a sickly sweet poison that dulled the pain while quietly feeding on his soul. He was powerless to stop it. He was too tired to stop it. Tony was doing pretty good. Aside from having died, he was doing pretty good. Resurrected from the dead, check. Thanos dead, check. Wife and daughter thriving, check. He'd never expected to get his life back, that was for sure. He was thankful for the second chance. Unfortunately, Tony was quick to discover that the kid had all but lost his own life. It felt like a knife slowly twisting into his chest every time he saw the kid: in agony. Now Tony wasn't exactly the poster-child for a good emotional support figure, but he wasn't about to sit back and let this continue. No matter how hard the kid fought him, no matter how much resistance he was met with, Tony would help the kid. Still, he couldn't help the fear that laced his blood. Tony couldn't help but question whether he would be able to save Peter from the weight of grief. **NO Starker** Triggers Warnings: Substance Use/Abuse Depressive and/or Suicidal Thoughts/Mentions Rape Threats/Mentions Descriptive Blood/Minimal Gore Some Self-Harm Coarse Language Mental Illness (various) This is a heavier story, so please don't read if you're not comfortable with any of the above triggers. "I'm guessing you're here to try and recruit me? Again?" I ask him patiently. I believe this is the fifth-time Nick Fury has come calling. Each and every time I have turned him down, but eventually he comes back and proposes the same thing. "No, I'm here to see if you'd like some girl scout cookies. The Samoa's are selling really well this year." Nick sasses while giving me his signature glare. I smirk. He's a sarcastic jerk, but he is funny. "Oh, well in that case..." I start and trail off, knowing it'll make him even more frustrated. He huffs and my smirk grows. "Why do you want me so bad?" I ask, honestly wanting to know. I watch Nick as he sighs deeply and clasps his hands in front of him. "Your skill set is equal to the best that we have. You would be an invaluable part of the team." He explains, but he knows that isn't what I mean. We stare at each other for a moment before he sighs again. "Your history only makes you more of an impressive subject." He continues and I groan. "The point is that you would help put an end to what happened to you, on a global scale." He says. "Think about it, Shifter." Nick drops a folder on the concrete and starts to walk back to the exit of the roof. I flip through the folder lazily, barely skimming the papers, but I know all of the names already. Once I've gone through most of it I stop and toss it in the dust behind me. Reading it was useless. I wasn't made to be any sort of hero. I DO NOT OWN THE AVENGERS. ONLY THE CHARACTERS AND THE SITUATIONS I CREATE.

Si vis pacem, para bellum. //If you want peace, prepare for war// ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The daughter of the infamous Bruce Banner most known for his time spent saving the world as the Hulk and for his research in gamma radiation. Y/n Banner has never been a secret to the world but her story keeps being altered. So this is her story through her view. Watch as she makes it through physical and mental hurting with crazed and intensified emotions, loss, and through it all love. You may think you know her story but trust me, you don't. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So I started running. You assume most nerds aren't physically fit but this nerd could run for hours on end and never get tired. Sarah called me the young Steve Rogers even though when Steve Rogers was young it was hard enough for him to walk long distances nevermind run. Running has become a common thing with me. Especially at night after my nightmares. The nightmares are roughly the same, the experiment that turned my dad into a big green monster but instead he doesn't survive the blast. What a lot of people don't know is that I was actually in the lab with him. I watched as he tested the machines to make sure there were no accidents or causalities. Everything seemed to be fine, until it wasn't. The machine malfunctioned and the gamma rays went out of control. Not only did my dad get hit but so did I. The effects weren't exactly the same obviously but they did the same job of giving the victims unnatural abilities. On my run I started to think more about the accident as tears streamed down my face and my feet started to feel like they were on fire since my body wanted to just give out and sulk. My mother chose to leave me, my father tried to leave me. What is it about me that repels people? Why doesn't anyone want me? _________________________________________ Started: 7/16/21 Finished: 7/10/22 DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of these characters they belong to Stan Lee🕊️ and Marvel
