Many have forgotten about the technology of the past. Computers and energy fueled by electricity. But that's what they wanted. That's what they decided 200 years ago. The Protectors have kept the knowledge of this hidden for years for fear of what could happen when the engineering marvels of the present collide with the technological disasters of the past.But has it all been in vain?
Sage Doweger, or Red as they call her on the streets, has been getting mysterious messages. Notes telling her to watch the shadows. Could it be related to the missing girl who was supposedly taken by a mechanical monstrosity?And what does it all mean when these notes lead back to Lucian Bradshaw, a nobleman with a hidden secret.

Those two humans would be trained to kill what humanity has become and start it all over, so the world would be a better place. But once they make the female, they find that she is not like her partner. She has a different goal in mind than restarting humanity. Intrigued now, he went to the window of the house and watched as she reassured her mother that the dog was gone "I'll see you tonight, reckless child." He promised softly. **** Marcus felt himself beginning to wake and struggled to stay in the dream. But it was no use. His eyes opened and he released the pillow his hand was gripping. It was the same one that she had laid her head on every night. His head went into the pillow heavily for a moment, breathing in her faint scent. He hated and treasured dreams like that with equal fervor. He rolled over on his back and stared at the ceiling. It had been decades since she'd been forced to break that promise. He lifted his hand and touched the ring that had been her last gift. It had been decades, but it was yesterday. ***I did not skimp on the steamy scenes so consider yourselves warned ok?
