Some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Then their are people like Isabella Porter. They are survivors. Survivors of loneliness, loss and everything in between. Fed up with constant poverty and an abusive mother, she dreams of a happy life. She dreams of living the American dream. 

At seventeen she decides to leave and make her dreams a reality. Not long after she meets  rich playboy Alex. Hes handsome, charming and best of all willing to help her. Things are starting to look up for her.

Soon she realizes that everything that glitters is not gold. Alex is not who she thought he was. He is a monster. She's drugged, kidnapped and forced into a world of terror, unlike anything she could ever imagine.

After being sold underground to human traffickers, Isabella is alone once again. Where she once longed for a decent meal, she now wishes for even one. She prays every night not wake up.

Then she meets Josephine. Her new cellmate.  She helps Isabella evolve from a terrified girl to a fierce fighter. The only way for Isabella and Josephine to survive is to become again what they have lost. Human.. 

This is a story about finding love in the darkest places.
