A werewolf story with a twist

Noel has never had a normal life, at the age of 8 she was kidnapped by rouges and tormented for 10 years. She never experienced, kindness, love or happiness. One day she decides it's time to fight back and finds herself at the brick of death when her escape plan goes badly. Fortunately, she is saved by an Alpha, that is also her mate. She finds out quickly that her so called mate is not interested in a pathetic human as herself. Noel is thrown into a new pack and has to learn how to cope with her demons from the past and move on. She also has to learn to accept that her mate is a heartless man with no desire for her. Amongst all this aguish she finds comfort from some of the pack members and becomes stronger as she discovers who she really is.

I felt his wet nose nestle my cheek. I opened my eyes and saw the pain and guilt that showed in his eyes. His wolf was upset. I placed my hand on his head and ran my fingers through his soft fur. Sparks from the bond ran up my arm and through my body, furthering calming me. I can sense that he felt it too and it eased his pain as well.

"I wish I could be the strong and attractive Luna that your other half desires. This bond would probably be easier if I was what he wanted, maybe then he would accept me and this mate bond." I whispered.

The wolf whimpered and nestled closer to me as more tears ran down my face. I shifted my body and laid my head on his side. With his warmth and sparks surrounding me, it didn't take long for my eyes to get heavier and for me to fall asleep.
