The werewolf part of her is genetic- her whole family can phase. But reading minds is new in her genes. Ever since she was three, thoughts flittered into her brain, revealing everything about everyone. Nix is the only way her pack can communicate when in wolf form. She's tired of it. So when an elder tells her of the Great Wolf, who might be able to help her, she is eager to find him. Some very power-hungry people figure out about Nix's family's genetic gift, but, more specifically, about Nix's personal gift, too. While on the run to find the Great Wolf, Nixie has to deal with humans, friends, enemies, allies, and unexpected love, too.

A fourteen year old girl becomes all alone when her parents abandon her and she goes on her own personal mission to find them. She believes that they would never leave her alone without a good reason or something forced them to leave her all alone. She leaves her life behind and dedicates her life to finding out the truth behind her parents leaving.
