"Cat got your tongue?" the voice asked. The eyes disappeared for a second before returning. The silence took hold, settling over them like a blanket. Suffocating them. The two just stared at each other, Mariella only seeing his eyes. The man finally laughed, a deep chuckle. He pushed himself off the table and began to walk in circles around Mariella. She still wasn't able to see him. It was like the shadows followed him, casting a cloak of darkness for him to wear. He walked around Mariella, circling her like a vulture circles its prey.
