"Cat got your tongue?" the voice asked. The eyes disappeared for a second before returning. The silence took hold, settling over them like a blanket. Suffocating them. The two just stared at each other, Mariella only seeing his eyes. The man finally laughed, a deep chuckle. He pushed himself off the table and began to walk in circles around Mariella. She still wasn't able to see him. It was like the shadows followed him, casting a cloak of darkness for him to wear. He walked around Mariella, circling her like a vulture circles its prey.

Mariella White lives under the protection of her father however when he leaves to go on a trip for a few days, Mariella finds herself kidnapped by a rival Mafia. The kidnapping ends up delving Mariella into the dark depths of society, bringing things to light that she shouldn't know about. Predatory eyes are staring into her own, threatening to bring Mariella down with them. She needs to find a way to get away from these monsters but will her life be the cost of her freedom?
