Axel King left his life as an MMA fighter behind him when his parents died. He'd had no choice when the courts deemed his career choice to be too violent to raise his younger sister and infant brother in. Now 3 years later Axel attends Ramsden University of the Arts while running King's Gym -the gym and training facility his father built from the ground up nearly 30 years ago.

Aspen Wolfe is the RUA's golden child. Her singing talent is well known throughout the school and her friendly personality paired with her unique appearance makes the young woman loved by nearly everyone she comes in contact with.

When the two are paired together for a final project, things for the both of them begin to go downhill, quickly. Aspen ends up hospitalized after a brutal beating, and Axel is arrested.
