Nico Di Angelo, son of Hades [god of the underworld] is a quiet boy that likes to keep to himself. After his sister passed away many years ago, his life has taken a dark turn, leaving Nico to only see the bad things in his life. Nico has very few friends, a half sister that he loves dearly, and a crush on one of his only friends. Wow, super sucky story description!! The fic is better than the description makes it sound by the way!

What if Nico di Angelo wasn't saved in time? ... No, I'm not saying that he died or snapped. I'm saying, what if at ten years old he was taken by Dr Thorne? Trained with Luke, the best swordsman of his generation? Started hating the gods like Luke, changed into a ruthless killing machine? TW: Percico- I'm sorry, I had to add it in. However, this is going to be ruthlessly honest Percico- Nico going through his internalised homophobia, boundaries, stuff like that. They might break up horribly- it is a possibility, and truthfully very likely, if it actually happened. I'll just have to wait and see. Non-graphic descriptions of violence, emotional manipulation, internalised homophobia, a few instances of strong language- but not many, I promise. If you get triggered by that, DO NOT READ. This book does NOT contain: Slurs of any kind or any sexual scenes whatsoever. I modelled this book so things in it happen realistically- it may not be happy, but it is what it is. If you don't like that, DO NOT READ. Also... Valgrace. I'm sorry, I love it, it had to happen. One more thing- to make the Percico less icky, I made Nico 2 years older- so 14 when Percy is turning 16, etc.

As the door opened it closed equally as softly, there was silence and Nico was getting suspicious the person made no noise. Then suddenly felt a sudden pressure being applied to his back and a soft voice spoke, "Morning neeks." The voice was so close to his ear that he felt a chill run up his spine. He tried to push off the bubbly blond but nothing worked so he just let him be and tried to go back to sleep but Will was not having that. "Come on neeks, or We'll be late," Will said as he put his hand under Nico's armpit to hoist him up. He succeed but was met with one of the deadliest glares. *"Che diavolo amico?" Nico spoke out with an attitude, so Will assumed it was bad, but hey he doesn't know Italian. So he just frowned and shot back with his own, *"O te obligo o te levantas tú mismo". Nico didn't understand it Will said it assertively so he took it as a threat and scurried off to the bathroom. The boy he had a crush on since he was 11 years old. He's starting to realize that he isn't as useless as he thinks he is, and that he's actually worth something. Everything is going great for a while. But just like it always is for demigods, nothing good ever lasts. The death of Nico's first and closest friend Jason Grace puts a sudden end to the sunshine that currently brightens Nico's life for once. His death triggers a lot of things for him, and shines light on a lot of his unresolved trauma. Will Nico be able to make it through this without his mental stability completely breaking once and for all? Will Nico be able to let people in enough to help him get through it? And what about the mysterious dreams that Nico keeps having of his mom? And who really is this little girl that knows nothing about her past? In this sequel to Out of the Shadows, Nico sees familiar faces and revisits past places, but at least this time he has Will along for the ride.
