It was summer, the last day of school and the world just felt alive with a joyful buzz. There I am, five years old, with a tear streaked face, messy dark brown hair and a runny nose, trying to be strong for him, when it should actually be the other way around. He was kneeling in front of me wearing the same tired expression; the grey stubble dotting his chin making him seems older than he actually was. He whispers a couple words, gives me a kiss on the forehead, then draws himself up to his full height, spins on his heel and he walks away, leaving me with a complete stranger who would 'take care' of me. That's how the memory always ends... he always walks away. No matter how much I call or scream or even chase after him, he always walks away. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Reynolds has been running all her life. She refuses to get attached and sees everyone and everything as a small delay in her plans to escape. Will this be any different? Will there be a reason to stay this time? Joseph (Joe) Blue is her complete opposite, a carefree and happy 18 year old with the mentality of a kid. Everyday is a new adventure. Will he be able to convince Lizzie that life is worth more or will he run with her? I guess you'll have to read to find out ;-)

Some people are lucky and have the most perfect lives, but some of us are like Elizabeth "Liz" Meyers. She's been dealing with school, the lost of her mother, and her abusive dad too long. All Liz wanted was to get a chance to start over. Everyday she wish she could, but that was just a wish that wouldn't be granted. But the day finally comes and she can leave her father. After a turn of events Liz finds herself moving in with the new kid in school that no one can stop talking about and his family. As much as she fights it, she falls for him. She starts believing that her past is now tucked away and she can move forward with her life. But just as things seem to be going right someone from her past makes their way back into her life. Liz soon realizes she will have to make a choice. Will she choose her past or her present? Whatever she chooses, it will change her life forever. This has to be the hardest things Liz has ever had to do... Edited by: Meaganwinnie
