My heart stopped as I heard our front door slam open and heard not-so-human screeching come from downstairs. I heard screams come from my parents and things slamming and banging against the walls and floor.
CRASH!
That was a vase.
My breathe hitched as I heard slow but nearing steps crawl up our stairs. They scratched against the floor boards, ripped the carpet, groaning.
I looked at my door in horror. They got closer and closer.
I ran to it as fast as I could, locking it.
What ever was out there was not safe.

Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else.
