"-Maybe. Maybe I don't have to be this person."

I stammered out my lungs refilling rapidly with the crisp air, as my eyes stayed in contact with the softness of his.

"Then don't" He spoke face alight with a new reinforced sense of hope. Bringing his rough hands to my face he stroked his thumb across my cheek gently. Then all too suddenly it was if a switch was flipped, I was the backseat driver in my own body as the soft frown encased on my face grew into a cruel smirk.

"Too bad I'm addicted to being this person," He froze as his brain acknowledged my words. It seemed as if he went to pull away but it was already too late, within his next breath my hand was wrist deep in his chest.

Cassie is one of a kind, the only, in fact. But instead of life looking up in her eyes it plummets at a never ending rate.
Will she be able handle all the lies and betrayal headed her way or will she crack under the pressure? And lose the one thing she needs to navigate through this...
Her hope.

"Did you think it was brave? Or did you think it was necessary? To defy me." His words felt like a knife twisting in her gut and his silver eyes drunk in her fear at his leisure. "Oh no, let me guess, you wanted to hold onto that 'humanity' of yours for just a little longer?" He scoffed and the colour drained from her face. He bent down slowly, tangling his fingers within her hair before he yanked her forwards, craning her neck to meet his glare. She withheld the shriek that threatened to escape from her. Eyes now locked, she watched in horror as his irises began to cloud over. "Your soul is mine." He let the hair fall loosely across her face, chuckling low into her ears. "And it's as black as my own." A shudder ran down her spine. "Never forget that you belong to me." She felt numbed, dizzied, like someone had just dodged her best right hook and had been knocked off balance. Even after everything, the feeling was unfamiliar to her. He leant his face in closer, purposely letting his fangs fall over his bottom lip. "Forget it, and you may not be the one who suffers the consequences of it." ----------------------------------------------------------------- Cassie Ellis didn't have the greatest start in life. Her parents were killed when she was just six and her adoptive family don't even remember her name. Suddenly a group of cold hearted vampires offer to save her from her nightmares, in return for her soul and ultimately trapping her in an unknown world, filled with dangers, heartbreak and lies. Now she just waits for the vampire Cole to devour her soul, ending her guilt ridden existence. But are things really going to be that simple? Or are there other plans in motion? #2 in Werewolf 12/05/18 Mated to a Beta and marked by his Alpha. A unique twist on the clichéd possessive Alpha stories. "W-what are you doing?" I stuttered helplessly as he stepped closer so I couldn't get away since all that was around was two brick walls that were closing me in. Slowly he stepped closer, each second feeling like minutes. He let out a guttural chuckle that left my entire being trembling. "Paying Carter back" he whispered huskily cocking his head sideways causing me to gulp as his gigantic arms gripped my hips roughly. Forcefully he shifted my body up against the wall, closing the small gap in between us. Ramming his lower half into mine, he allowed every groove of his body to mesh with mine. With no thought his lips attacked my neck as I beat on his chest with all my power hoping and praying to remove him. "Leave me alone!" I cried but he didn't listen. His tongue grazed my flesh expertly and in any other case I would have melted under his touch. Inhaling sharply he held me tightly, savoring the moment. Suddenly Nate pulled back slightly and just when I thought he was going to back off he did the unexpected. He opened his mouth revealing his large canine teeth. "No" I pleaded, wounding my fists in his shirt as I pushed against him. Slowly his tongue glided over them, flickering off when he hit the ends. Within a milisecond his teeth plunged deep into my flesh making me let out an ear piercing scream though no one came to my rescue. My wolf was cowering in fear of the demon man that was over powering us with each second that past. "Please" I begged weakly though he ignored me only to grip my sides harder ignoring the pitiful whimpers escaping my lips. My neck felt like it was on fire as his wolf controlled mine with little care. My knees began to shake at a rapid pace though he held me up as he continued dominating me. I grew dizzy and within seconds everything went black.

I sighed heavily as I scanned the forest. I had heard something or someone to be specific, wandering about. I decided I would leave once I affirmed they weren't a danger. "What are you doing in my land, human?" A deep enchanting voice spoke I sighed once again "I'm not human, just smell like one" I spoke as I turned around to see the most stunning man I have ever seen "Mate" he spoke "Find another female, Lycan" I spat He only growled at me in response. Men. My brother was the same way. It's kinda funny how all, correction, most shifter men think alike. I would've thought he would be different, after all, he is Lycan. Something of myths. But then again, so are the supernatural. I turned away from him, not even looking at him. I didn't want to remember what he looked like so I didn't give him a second glance. I heard him move closer. I quickly grabbed the knife out of my holster and threw it at a tree next to him. He stops moving then. "Heed my warning. It's the only one you'll get" I spoke coldly "I will find you. Then you will have no escape from me" he spoke as he backed away I could understand. Lycans, like lion-shifters, were going extinct. Therefore mates were even more important to them. But, even if I understood I still didn't want to be someone's mate. After all, I was Destiny Requalhi, Creator and Destructor of All. ------------------------------ Destiny Requalhi, a girl with a rough past and set in stone future. She wanted to be a normal lioness when she grew up but got so much more. She constantly is looking behind her back ready for a random attack to bestow itself upon her. Kylie survived the brutal destruction of her pack only to discover her cold alpha mate was the one responsible for the brutal slaughter of her family and pack mates. She can't forgive and she won't forget. Kylie cooperates with his demands while she searches for a way to free the remaining survivors and herself. Success teaches her just how complicated mate bonds can be and gives her the chance to choose her own fate. "Screw the mate bond. If I went for his throat while he was driving in human form, I might be able to kill him right now, and if I didn't succeed, the resulting accident might. I leapt for the front seat, powerful jaw ready to rip out his throat as he had ripped out my family's to take my revenge. Without even taking his left hand off the wheel, he blocked me by getting his right forearm between my jaws. I bit down as hard as I could, wishing to break his bones and sever the limb. Worse, I felt the tingles of our first contact where violence had connected us. The iron of his blood mingled with the other scents around me." (This is a dark story, but not the stereotypical one where she falls in love with her captor. This is the story of escape from a toxic relationship and finding healthy love.) MATURE content including violence, dubious consent, intimacy, and mature and other possibility upsetting themes like threats of suicide and miscarriage. Not intended for the 18- crowd, sorry. #1 in Protective (10/23/21, 02/02/22) #1 in Pack (10/24/21)

"Marry me, Cassie. Fulfill the promise you made to me. Become the demon's bride." His voice was deep, laced with something ancient, something unbreakable. He stepped closer, his burning crimson eyes never leaving hers. Her breath hitched. Her heart pounded in her chest, fear and something unexplainable tangling together. "And if I refuse?" she whispered. A smirk curled on his lips, dark and knowing. "Then I will make you ready... but you will marry me." She wanted to call him insane, to tell him he had the wrong person. But the way he looked at her-like he had waited lifetimes just for this moment-shook her to her core. He spoke of promises she didn't remember, of a past she couldn't recall. Yet, something inside her ached at his words, a strange sense of déjà vu wrapping around her like a ghostly embrace. What happens when a demon claims you as his lost lover, swearing that you once vowed to marry him?
