Lloyd had traveled to Hiroshi's labyrinth after discovering what he thinks is a note from Garmadon. Upon arrival he discovers he was misled and cannot escape. He cannot call for help and he cannot run away. Kai figures out where his teammate is, and decides he must find him, because he vowed to protect him.

NOTE: There are some elements (Ha, I'm so punny aren't I) of this story that do not match the season this is written in. They are only there to help with moving the plot line along. This is the first book I EVER wrote, so read at your own risk... One year later, a group of assassins, sent to kill Garmadon and his family, ambushed them in the night. Garmadon and Misako escaped, but their two children didn't. The couple were determined to avenge their fallen children and defeat the ones responsible for their deaths, or so they thought. In the present day, the ninja, Kai, Cole, Jay, Nya, and Zane, with their masters, Wu and Garmadon, discover a large organization of the same assassins that attacked Misako and Garmadon being lead by a powerful and dangerous foe on an unknown island they never knew about-the Dark Island. This foe was unlike others, he was the eternal enemy of the First Spinjitzu Master. Together, the ninja team work their way over to the island to try and fight them, not knowing that a small group, who aren't so different from the ninja, are already working on it. Darkness (Season 17)
(This takes place after crystalized) (I count Uncharted as a season so that's why it's 17) When the ninja defeat the Overlord along with help from all of Ninjago, they are finally at peace. As they help to clean up the mess, they hear of rumors, saying that there is a new darkness from the Dark Island that they have not been to in years. They decide to go alone, without Master Wu, P.I.X.A.L, or anyone. When they get there, they soon realize that it was more serious than they thought. The island was blocked off, and as the ninja realized that they were going to have to fight harder than ever before when they meet the princess, daughter of the Overlord. She and her army steal the ninja's powers and lock them up. The ninja try to escape, but have bigger issues when Lloyd's oni form starts to hurt his health. Can the ninja save Lloyd, get out of the palace to stop the princess, all on their own, without their powers?
