To Love a Borgia

What is the difference between love and desire--or is there? Constanzia Borgia has loved her cousin Cesare since childhood but their passion may turn to danger. Now widowed, her parents have sent her to her uncle the pope, in order to secure advantageous marriage for her--but they had not reckoned with Cesare.

Cesare Borgia was known for the beauty of his face, his clothes, and the beauty of his women, but behind that was the grasping, greedy heart of a Borgia for whom enough was never sufficient. He has inherited the Borgia ambition, and the cardinal skirts are not what he wants.

The minute Cesare and Constanzia lay eyes on each other for the first time in ten years, their childhood affections blossomed into a deep love. Constanzia longs to be married, and her dreams seem to come true when she marries Calvino Pallavicini and moves with him to Genoa, but she carries a secret that will prove fatal--she is pregnant with Cesare's child. Cesare will not tolerate another man raising his child and when he kills her husband she has no choice but to return to Rome.

She seizes another chance to escape when Lucrezia marries the future Duke of Ferrara. She marries again, but Cesare kidnaps her and carries her away. What will happen now, she thinks she is pregnant but does not know who is the father!
