Battle of the Commons

Being accustomed to the new ways of the Earth in the year of 2250, Hannah knows what poverty is like. She knows she can't have what her ancestors had. The government lies, saying the planet is getting better. When will they realize that the population is down to a bare minimum and they must fight each other for survival? The remaining 18 countries have a battle every year to determine which country gets the best and most recently discovered benefits. When Hannah is involuntarily entered, she determines that she has one goal only and that is to win. Can she make it out alive or will she collapse with the others and grow accustomed to the savagery?
