The Cruntis. That is where I live. I know it sounds like a really weird place, and it is if I'm honest. But the reason why you've never heard of it is because it is a distant world, where everything is different, and I do mean everything. In this world we have tribes, the Oculas, the Menders, and the Seekers. The Oculas see your outcome. No, not your future, your outcome. How you turn out, why you turn out like that, and lastly how you die. They are enemies with the Menders. The Menders...well, they don't always mend. They can erase your memories, and either contaminate them or make them the best things you have ever known, even if they aren't true. They're supposed to be the guardians of the world, but...that hasn't been happening much lately. Ah yes, the Seekers. They didn't always exist, you know.
They were created.
Ever heard of the classic, Romeo and Juliet? If you have, you know that there were two rivaling families, the Montagues and the Capulets. And Romeo and Juliet had a forbidden love. Think of the Oculas and the Menders as the two rivaling families. We have a Romeo and Juliet too, and they created the Seekers. The Seekers have all the powers of the Oculas and Menders combined. They are for the good of the people.
Dawn was an Ocula in training, but just like every other child with her, she had learned about the Seekers in her books, and was warned to never disobey the tribe or there would be dire consequences. Dawn was different...she knew how to think for herself. She was a Dreamer, and she didn't even know it. No one did. A Dreamer was unheard of; it was the start of a new life. Dawn always wondered why she was so different, why she wanted to be a Seeker and be good instead of being a part of her corrupted community. Little did she know that she would be leading more Dreamers into battle. Would she take the leap, or would she stay tethered to disaster?

The Myth that Became Real
I was an ordinary girl, as normal as anyone can be. The day some mysterious guy rolled into town and noticed me, my world flipped upside down and things started happening. Things I could not explain. I wish I knew what was in store for me after he noticed me because my life would never be the same. Now my life was about as unnormal as you can get. Everything I thought to be true, especially about myself, was wrong. Not only this but now I live in a world where fantasy creatures exist. Werewolves, vampires, fae, trolls and more. They aren't just a fantasy anymore, they're real. My life was normal like any other person. Then my world came crashing down when I met Liam, he rocked every bone in my body and resistance was hard. I had to leave my world behind after finding out the truth of what I was and train as hard as I could. There were people after me and my kind and I wasn't sure how to stop them. How could I protect so many and lead a brand new life myself? How do I prevent war with the world? And how will I ever be able to resist Liam's charm when every fiber of my being pulls me toward him? The supernatural isn't a myth anymore, they are real and I'm one of them. And now the whole world is after us. Note: This can be read as a standalone but you can read Taken first if you want. There's no reason to read it if you don't want to. This book is completely understandable without reading Taken beforehand.
Human Status
I live in a world where I am nameless. I live in a world where I do not matter except or unless I am owned by someone. I do not have rights, freedoms, joys, wishes, or aspirations. I am property. I was born and raised to belong to someone that will one day take me away like the fairy tale stories that I listened to everyday in the house I live in. I prayed every night that a handsome prince would come and take me to live in his castle just like in the books. I prayed that I would be a princess and have a kingdom just like in the books. But I was never told that the books were all lies. I was never told the true reason why I was a well sought after commodity. I was never told that I am not the only one like me. When I found out it was too late to save myself. To think and in less than 4 days I will be taken away from my current home and be in a home of my own. I sat on the simple wooden bed hoping that my owner was nice and kind. I hated to think about some of the stories that I heard about the other girls like me. I hated thinking about being exterminated because I made my owner unhappy. I thought to myself that I would try real hard to keep him happy. I remember the covenant of rules that would keep me and my owner happy. I would need to follow five rules. 1. Always obey my owner. 2. Always be available to my owner. 3. Never talk back. 4. Always agree with my owner. 5. I am not human so I cannot do human things. I wondered how pretty human women were. I was so nervous about my departure I nearly refused to leave my room. I could leave if there wasn’t anything wrong with me physically. I remember the den mother telling me not to do anything that would cause a refund or else I would be exterminated upon refund. My new owner had thirty days to return me. If he returned me and no one else was interested I would be exterminated. I would be killed because it would be thought that I was defective and no one would want a defective product.Complete

The world had gone to hell long ago, taken over by the vampire race. In order to keep some sort of peace in our land, the Vampire Lords made a consecutive agreement. The rich and powerful humans could survive just as they had been, untouched by the vampires save for the occasional blood collections, or so they thought In reality, we were all under their control. Castles spread out throughout our land, one landing in each city. Each castle varied in the number of vampires residing there, but all of them carried a Lord. The Lords were the ones in charge in every city, whether we liked it or not. The vampires often roam through the city, making sure that everyone was in order and no one stepped out of line. If you stepped out of line, you died, end of story. Even if the rich were still under their control, their lives were still better than the poor. The poorest lives held a much worse fate. The men were to be put to work as slaves, whether that meant serving a specific vampire, or just building their castles, they were slaves. The women were to be pets. Pets were the lowest rank you could have. They were forced into cages that were too small to stand in with collars around their necks. They spent their lives in pet shops, just waiting for the dreadful day that they'll be bought. They were treated like animals, trained into what their master wanted, and punished if they misbehaved. Those who were lucky enough to live through that, we're to be slaughtered for their blood at age twenty-five in an act to make sure that our population would stay steady. I was born into this world. Born into this world full of blood-sucking monsters. Except, I was one of the lucky ones. Was.
