If you had the choice between the nice guy or the brash player, the choice would seem simple. The nice guy, obviously. But maybe not for Laurel.
Laurel is unexpected. Stereotypical nerd by day, party girl by night. Only a select few have seen her wild side, and she intends to keep it that way.
Alec is known all around town for his player ways, and his good looks. Girls constantly follow him around, and it always ends in tears and ice cream.
Oliver is the nice guy. He isn't the captain of the football team, rather the captain of Mathletes. He's had his eyes on Laurel for years, but she only sees him as a friend.
This story is merely for fun, and I have no intentions of it being a hit. It will be cheesy and predictable, but feel free to read if you will.

Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either.
