Coldwater, Michigan. America. My home. Half the government is still trying to keep up the America the Founding Fathers created, but it's going to hell. Slums dominate the cities. There is no countryside left. The eastern seaboard is gone, swallowed up by the melting glaciers, Canada is threatening to take the northern states while Mexico bluffs on invading in the south. All while revolution stirs in the belly of it. The other half of the government has taken advantage of this, leeching off the chaos and plotting to overthrow this "democracy" once and for all. Where do I fit in, you ask? I am no one in their minds, but I am not harmless. It's all about the arms race again now, being the top dog even though everyone knows Norway has us under their thumb. Super soldiers are the hot new weapon, and I was the lab rat at eight years old. They've cut me up and put me back together, and then let me go, and that was their mistake. I have no powers, no influence; my home is the trash, but I will get my revenge. I have no to stop me, no one to care for, no one to care about, and it's my biggest advantage. Look out America, here comes your American psycho.

In which Ted Nivison tries to survive the apocalypse, with superpowers. --- "In this situation, solitude was safer, of course. Less of a chance of suddenly getting attacked by an elemental monster. Other people were dangerous, Ted knew, so he did his best to stay away from them. But here's the catch: it was incredibly fucking lonely." --- Disclaimer: These are heavily fictionalized versions of the creators involved, written for the sake of fiction, to practice my writing, and to have fun. I have nothing but respect for these people and I want to make sure I'm respecting their boundaries; I won't include shipping or graphic violence. If you think I'm still crossing any boundaries with this story, please let me know; and as always if I make anyone involved uncomfortable and you'd like me to take this down, I'll gladly do so. Thank you! --- EDIT November 13th 2020: See the beginning of "we're gonna pretend (intermission)" for a full explanation of the state of this work. But, in summary, I took a six-month hiatus after chapter 7 was published, and basically just stopped writing. Chapters 8 and 9, an interlude and the epilogue, are the only two chapters I had that were at any stage of completion whatsoever, and were originally going to be the 13th and 19th chapter respectively. The first six chapters are still a completed "arc", and 7, 8 and 9 can pretty much stand on their own. The rest of the story remains unwritten and unpublished, but I at least wanted to get the concepts I did have out there for you to read. I'm sorry I can't give you a complete story, but, well, I hope you can enjoy this regardless.

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16
Spartan's Vengeance: War Beyond Worlds by astra_123
45 parts Complete
Revenge keeps him alive. But will it turn him into the very monster he swore to destroy? A decade ago, Astra lost everything. Owes Al Bagdadi didn't just steal Sarah-he twisted reality itself, manipulating her into leaving. Humiliated and heartbroken, Astra swore vengeance. But his war is no longer just personal. Owes is no ordinary enemy. He is the world's most feared tyrant, his military an unstoppable force that has conquered half the planet, including all of Europe. No army can challenge him-except one. The Spartans, the last militia standing. From the USA, Astra rises as their leader. Enhanced with cybernetic implants and trained in every form of combat, he becomes a living weapon. But even with the Spartans at his back, he knows the truth-he cannot win alone. Then, the impossible happens. A portal rips open in the night sky, revealing an ancient alien civilization. Their technology is beyond human comprehension. Their weapons can annihilate entire armies. Their war is not his-but their power is exactly what he needs. They offer him more than just an army. They give him something that could change everything-a power source unlike anything on Earth. A weapon. A suit. A force that bends reality itself. The more Astra wields it, the less human he becomes. But he doesn't care. Rome will burn. Owes will die. Nothing else matters. Or so he thought. When Astra finally reaches his enemy, he faces a nightmare. Owes is no longer human either. Enhanced with the most advanced cybernetics on Earth, he has become something beyond a soldier. Their final battle is more than just a fight-it is alien technology vs. human evolution, vengeance vs. survival, destruction vs. destiny. As war erupts and the world watches in terror, Astra marches forward. No turning back. No hesitation. No mercy. Only revenge.
Hero Time (Composite Ben 10 reader x Multiple Crossovers) by Bill_s
17 parts Ongoing Mature
"In a world where Grimm, Danger Beasts, Monsters, and notorious villains run rampant, there are those who stand against them. Benders, Huntsmen, Heroes, people who have the power to fight them, for the sole purpose of defending the innocent. At least some of them. Other guys just want to prove how powerful they are, and push around people without powers. I learned that the hard way. My name is Y/n Tennyson. I'm 20 years old, and I am in possession of the most powerful alien weapons, in the universe. When I was little, people like Bakugo and Issei picked on me everyday, just because I was too powerless to do anything. So one day, I decided to drop out of Union Academy and went on a cross country road trip with my grandpa and cousin. Then on our first stop, I went out on a walk where a meteor fell out of the sky and crashed right in front of me. But, as it turns out, it wasn't a meteor, but a pod containing a watch that, once stuck upon your wrist, could turn you into any alien you want. Needless to say that my life went uphill from there. I traveled across the galaxy, saved it from blowing up. Fought a giant alien, AS a giant alien. Stopped a race from destroying the universe. Blew up my watch. Got a new one. Dated a tennis player, and broke up with her. Fought a giant alien, as a giant alien AGAIN, this time in Tokyo. Killed an interdimensional demon along with my archnemesis. And made friends with a Slimebiote named Skurd. Now me and my friends are unlicensed heroes who defend the world from destruction. Mainly because it's the right thing to do, but partially to show Union Academy what kind of hero I am now. And I can't wait to see the look on their faces."
