When 14 year old Elizabeth Kyle commits suicide a few weeks into freshman year there is no note and no explanation. As the small town grieves and then moves on quickly to the next event, three people are left unable to cope. Elizabeth's little sister McKenzie is left with no guidance in a confusing world, Noah is left realizing that he waited to long to share his feelings, and Laurel is left fearing that she caused the whole ordeal.
