The night couldn't get worse for Emerson Winters, considering she had already been harshly dumped by her two year boyfriend. With a broken heart, an empty purse, and a slippery side walk she heads back for her apartment.

Ryder Daily just got laid off and got a call that his mother was moved into hospice care to top things off. With his car shutting down, he had no choice but to walk home. With an empty wallet, and a fogged and saddened mind, Ryder heads home.

Almost being able to feel the warmth of his heated bedroom, Ryder hears the scream of what sounds like a distressed girl. The snow fall had picked up making it hard to see. But once finding the girl, with a torn dress and freezing in a ball with tears down her cheeks, Ryder picks her up and brings her home with him.
