Beauty and the Beast

Rewrite a classic fairy tale. I've done this before, the first time I attempted the writing challenge and I chose Goldilocks and the three bears. I actually made this my first publication. I've since ended the e-book sale because I always had in mind to turn it in to an anthology of short stories entitled Happily Never Afters.

This challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to make a start on the second story. This time, I chose Beauty and the Beast. The fairy tale of course, not the Disney film.

So before I post it, a few things. I'm not sharing the full story in its entirety. Mainly because I had no hope in hell of writing the full thing in one day. But hopefully, I've written enough to grab your attention.

More importantly, as the name of the series suggests, these are not happy stories. They deal with dark issues and sometimes the downright horrific, so please read at your own discretion.

So far, I have written up to Beauty and the Beast's first meeting, I hope you enjoy it!
