Sebastian is long gone, but a new enemy, once a strong ally, loved by everyone, has been Turned. Not an Endarkened, every Shadowhunter wondered what went wrong with Jace Herondale.

Once bound to Sebastian with Lilith's rune, the malady is acting up. He was more Heaven than Hell, able to survive the heavenly fire. A summoning gone awry, Lilith was released into the world of the Shadowhunters, and she is acting through the bodies of the beloved.

Not only that, odd appearances have been spotted across Idris, Alicante. People thought to be dead - both Downworlders and Shadowhunters - have been seen, claimed some. Some have joined Lilith in hiding, forming secret alliances - which the Clave now call the Conspirators. 

With Jace hallucinating and acting strange, his closest family has started to fear Lilith has gained control over him. Because of the dead being spotted, they try to seek aid from one of Jace's ancestors. As he did not die of grievous injuries but of old age, Clary risks doing an illegal resurrection - their last desperate grasp for hope. 

Can his closest friends bear to see Jace suffering, even though they cannot do anything at all to help? If he gets out of control, and is unrecoverable, will they have the heart to give him mercy?

The Third Shadow War has been brought upon the Shadow World. Will both Downworlders and Shadowhunters survive all the same?

[All characters belong to the one and only Cassandra Clare. If I ever meet her, the first thing I would do would be to thank her for creating the Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices, and all the other series that she has penned down.
